Photo Tour: Scissortail Lot 83 Kitchen
My heart is SO FULL as I write this post!! Every since I have been with the Lance Johnson Building Company in April of 2019, I have worked hard on every project we have had. Lot 83 in Scissortail was the first home that I got to start on from scratch as their new designer. It HAD to be perfect. When I designed this kitchen, I really wanted this to be my “prove yourself” kitchen, though, I’m not sure what I proved other than I can go over budget REALLY fast… oops!
I knew once this kitchen was finished I wanted to style it and take my own photos. Being a photographer for 8 years previously meant I already had all the equipment. And, since I needed some new headshots for my new business, I just made a day out of!
Well, enough talking and let’s get to the juicy details and drool-worthy photos! Then dive into all of the deets below!
I really wanted a different color island than the perimeter cabinets. Originally, I had decided on black, but the client and I wanted something a little more elegant. I chose Sherwin Williams Peppercorn, because it’s actually a dark gray - but in some light (and photos!) it has almost a moody blue color. We also originally had a waterfall countertop, but I wanted to see more of the cabinetry!
Speaking of cabinetry — how swoon worthy are these beautiful cabinets by Twin Oaks Custom Cabinetry? It’s really hard to compare the quality of custom cabinets to anything else. And they were painted to perfection by our painter and his team!
I have always dreamed of a white and wood kitchen, so when these shelves went up, my heart exploded! I love the warmth and the contrast it adds to this side of the all white kitchen. And can we talk about that sconce?!
The countertops are so bright and clean and white! They go really well with the glass subway tile backsplash. The delicate pendants don’t overpower the space so much, because I wanted that shiplap hood to be the star of the show! That, and maaaayybe the shelves.
Thanks for taking a tour of my very first project! Be sure to visit often for even more beautiful homes!
